01Choosing a comfortable grid
Start with 3×3 or 4×4 if you want fewer search locations, or select 5×5 and optional 6×6 when that remains comfortable. The best starting point is personal: screen size, zoom, touch control, and familiarity all change the experience.
02Large print and contrast settings
Large and Extra Large text, thicker borders, wider gaps, high contrast, a warm background, and dark display are independent choices. These options support comfort and readability; they do not indicate a vision condition.
03Timed versus untimed use
Untimed mode removes the running clock and reports completion without a duration. Optional timing counts up and can be hidden during the round. Compare a personal time only with your own records that use the same configuration.
04Audio cues
When the browser supports speech, Read Next Number and reading a selected number are manual actions. Nothing speaks automatically. The activity remains fully usable when speech is unavailable or turned off.
05Printing for offline practice
Print one or two large grids per A4 or US Letter page. Navigation and controls are hidden, while blank date, time, and notes fields remain. The printout contains no medical labels.
06Comparing only similar personal attempts
A personal best is calculated only for the same grid, text, contrast, border, spacing, and timer configuration. Different devices and display settings can change completion time, so records are not age benchmarks or ratings.
07What this tool does not assess
Selections and time cannot assess memory, eyesight, cognition, or health. Mistakes are only incorrect taps in the current sequence. The page does not ask about diagnoses and does not provide a cognitive level.
08When to stop
Pause or stop if you notice eye strain, headache, dizziness, frustration, or other discomfort. The break reminder is only a configurable on-page prompt, not medical advice or a requirement.
